From 01 October 2021 Bates Surfaces, the current manufacturer of Melteca Purecoat, will be taking over the sale and distribution of our Melteca Purecoat range.

Bates Surfaces are experts in the technology related to painted gloss panels and were critical partners in the development of Melteca Purecoat range.

What Does This Mean for Customer Who Purchase Melteca Purecoat?

As Bates Surfaces are the current manufacturer of Melteca Purecoat, the product range and quality will not change.

However, after 1 October 2021 all orders for Purecoat will need to be placed with Bates Surfaces. You will need to set up an account with Bates Surfaces by contacting the Bates Customer Service on sales@batessurfaces.co.nz or 0800 269 251, or filling out the pdf below and sending to sales@batessurfaces.co.nz. What Happens to My Melteca Purecoat Samples, Brochures and Boxes?

All registered Melteca Purecoat samples, brochures and boxes will be updated with Bates Surfaces details, with merchandising commencing in October 2021 with completion date of early December 2021.



How Do I Order More Purecoat Samples, Brochures and Boxes Going Forward?

You can arrange samples by contacting Bates Surfaces directly via sales@batessurfaces.co.nz or 0800 269 251.

Will the Same Purecoat Decors Be Available to Order from Bates Surfaces?

Yes, there have been six recent deletions (communicated via our newsletter in April this year) which include: Silver Strata, Zincworks, Ash Woodline, Aged Ash, Sublime Teak & Blackened Linewood. However, the remaining eight top selling decors will remain on range.


Will the current Purecoat edgetape still be available via Bates Surfaces?

Yes, the same edging options will be available, to order from Bates Surfaces.

Will lead times remain the same?

As always, lead times may vary for larger orders, but for standard orders lead times be approx. as follows:

  • Auckland: next day
  • North Island: 1-2 days
  • Nelson/Blenheim/Christchurch: 2-3 days
  • West Coast/South Canterbury/Central Lakes/Otago: 3-4 days
  • Southland: 4-5 days

Will Current Purecoat Pricing Remain the Same?

Current pricing will be retained for a minimum of six months after the transfer. If pricing does change, Bates Surfaces will give three month’s notice prior to commencing any price changes.

Who Will Cover Any Purecoat Warranty/Claim Issues?

For any sales up to 30 September 2021 Laminex NZ will cover any warranty issues as normal. Any sales on or after 01 October 2021 will be covered and managed by Bates Surfaces. As a reminder, the warranty period is 10 years.
